Promise
Promise is a campaign to encourage active allyship towards the LGBTQ community. At a time with increasing hate crimes and transphobic fear-mongering, performative allyship, how do you encourage people to stand up?
At the parade, attendees are given a set of promises with a sticker attached to the bottom. They sign the sticker to make the promise and then get to stick it to a banner being carried in the parade. From the very first interaction, this campaign aims to get people actively involved in the parade, not just as a day out in town, but as a political statement.

There is also a website and newsletter people can sign up for, with the same list of promises. Every time someone signs up for the newsletter, they make the promise, and one of the stickers in the background gets coloured in.
The physical act of signing something puts a sense of responsibility on people, and the newsletter and site become a way of keeping people who have promised in the loop of what is happening and how to get involved.
